I have been reborn and I am now a strong warrior woman. These are my stories.

It's that time of year.  The time when everyone becomes a face painter whether it's for Halloween or the big game.  I have been face painting for almost a year now and wanted to share a few health and safety tips for those who may be face painting for the first time this year. Do use FDA compliant face paints.  Face paints are not actually paints but makeup, cosmetics.  My brand is Snazaroo which is not only FDA compliant but also has a child safety rating.  ...

I love this month.  In Texas, it's finally cool enough to enjoy an entire day outside.  Yay!  So some fun ideas of things to do in October. 1.  Go to a pumpkin patch.  It's so much more fun to pick your own pumpkin.  http://www.pickyourown.org/  Then you can take it home and carve it.  No cheating - getting the stencils, being creative is half the fun.  You have to do your own thing.  You know what else is cool is pumpkin sculpting.  &nb...

Thank you so much to the wonderful JUers who helped me.  I appreciate the gift which will be put to good use getting my truck repaired so it will pass inspection.  Even more than that I appreciate that you truly care about me.  I think this is why it makes me so sad when people diss JU or leave for greener pastures.  JU is more than a blog site.  It is truly a community.  I really do care about the people here and when someone leaves it feels like the tribe is down...

Heroes is one of my favorite tv shows.  I was so excited to see that it was back on tonight.  I seem to have lost a bit from last season.  At some point, I will either rent season 2 on DVD or see if it is streaming online so I can fill in the blanks.  Last season was a bit of a let down.  The wonder twins were just annoying.  What happened to the brother?  The first two shows of the new season were great though.  Some new villains are always good.&...

I was reading the latest time and they had an article about ways to be of service.  One of the ideas was to rethink Christmas.  There are many programs to ensure that kids have a good Christmas but many times seniors are forgotten.  That is such a good description.  It is so sad that these people lead a rich, full life and at some point, they are just forgotten.  Many are alone and lonely.  I think I am going to contact my church and see if we can come up with ...

Obama is now on the attack.  McCain made a comment about how America's mayors are more plugged into their citizens day to day challenges.  Here's the actual quote " [L]isten, mayors have the toughest job, I think, in America. It's easy for me to go to Washington and, frankly, be somewhat divorced from the day-to-day challenges people have."   This makes perfect sense to me.   I am sure that serving in the Senate in Washington they do not have their constituents walking ...

1.  What is the strangest thing you ever ate? 2.  Describe yourself in six words. 3.  Have you ever been addicted to a video/computer game?  Which one? 4.  Name one thing that you miss about being a kid. 5.  Do you untie your shoes when you take them off?

I understand that churches need money to pay the electricity and staff and hopefully also reach out to the community with good works.  But guess what God doesn't need your money.  None of us write a check to God every week.   My church asks that we give of our time, talent and treasure.  My treasure is pretty minimal at the moment and no I do not have cable TV.  I give what I can monetarily and give freely of my time and talents.  I did a large clean ou...

1.  If you could live in any TV series home, which would it be? 2.  Who's your favorite Disney character? 3.  What was your most recent trip more than 50 miles? 4.  Have you ever been in a food fight? 5.  What is the best way to relax? 6.  If you could retire tommorow what would you do?

I need help changing my avatar picture.  The one I want to use doesn't meet size requirements and I don't know how to make it smaller.  Can anyone walk me through resizing pictures for dummies?  I would appreciate it.

Well in the you can't make this stuff up, it turns out that VP candidate Sara Palin's daughter is CURRENTLY pregnant.  So she's not the mother of the baby with DS but will be a teenage mom.  She planning on marrying the father and keeping the child.  McCain knew about this before the pick.   So the fake pregnancy isn't the story.  Now the teenage pregnancy will be the story.  I'm just waiting to hear what a horrible mother Palin is now.  Not that I...

I find it to be the most offensive word in the English language.  Just saying that word is an insult to me and an insult to your mother.  Really, if you have to think it, do you really have to say it out loud?  Or type it?  I just was looking on Digg at the comments about the Pallin VP pick and there it is.  The C word.  How I hate that word.  I hate anyone who uses that word - ever.  I know that diggers are quite known for being offensive but ...

I had to share this which is making the rounds on the blogs and email.   Here are the top nine comments made by NBC sports commentators so far during the Summer Olympics that they would like to take back: 1. Weightlifting commentator: 'This is Gregorieva from Bulgaria. I saw her snatch this morning during her warm up and it was amazing.' 2. Dressage commentator: 'This is really a lovely horse and I speak from personal experience since I once mounted her mother.' ...
