I have been reborn and I am now a strong warrior woman. These are my stories.

Well in the you can't make this stuff up, it turns out that VP candidate Sara Palin's daughter is CURRENTLY pregnant.  So she's not the mother of the baby with DS but will be a teenage mom.  She planning on marrying the father and keeping the child.  McCain knew about this before the pick.

So the fake pregnancy isn't the story.  Now the teenage pregnancy will be the story.  I'm just waiting to hear what a horrible mother Palin is now.  Not that I agree or think that's true but there have already been ridiculous stories about her not getting proper pre-natal care.  I think we can assume that they will also blame mom for this.

I knew Juno was bad - you see Juno, Alaska ...get it.     I bet she wouldn't have even gotten pregnant if that movie hadn't come out.

We must have posted at the same time as I too just posted a blog on this......

I'm thinking if the Dems come out too hard against Palin that could hurt them because alot of people may smpathize with the family having gone thru  a similar trial.  On the other hand, there may be some blaming the mom for not watching her family like she should and therefore sacrificed her family for her career.

Can see it both ways.  I just wonder which will be more prevalent.

I doubt that official campaign will say anything about it but the blogs will be on fire with this.

I really don't know that teenage pregnancy is prevented by mom not having a career.

I do think this is an example of why abstinence-only education doesn't work.  I have no problem with abstinence is best or abstinence being the first choice.  It's the ONLY part of abstinence only that I have a problem with.

Everybody who has ever had kids knows that at the end of the day, kids will do what they like once they're 'adults.'

Palin's kid having a kid really isn't that big a news, she had sex out of wedlock, I don't think there are that many people in the world who would refuse to vote a candidate because of what her daughter has done - especially considering she's now marrying the father.

A seventeen year old getting married really isn't that good of an idea.  Aye carumba.

That is hardly a position that the Party That Empowers Women would take.  At least not with a straight face.

I agree, but I'm thinking people from McCain's own party, ........the very conservative  (hardcore) evangelicals.

Going after Palin herself the official campaign has released a statement saying that Palin's family is off limit

The Dems openly embrace & pander to these kooks, a number, including BO, having accepted invitations to speak at events sponsored & hosted by them, and I've heard none of them, certainly not BO, specifically distance themselves from or otherwise condemn Daily Kos.

I am, as it so happens, one of those conservative evangelicals.  We believe that the Bible teaches that we all sinners, we all make mistakes, and can all get forgiveness.  No one is better than anyone else, but one must take responsibility for their own actions.  Everyone is also responsible for their own actions, not those of anyone else.

Sarah's daughter shouldn't have gotten pregnant outside of wedlock, but she did, she and the father appear to be doing their best to make it right.  People make mistakes, they are doing the right thing, so no big deal.

Why do people get the strange idea that we expect everyone else to be perfect when our doctrines say exactly the opposite?

and so am I.  When I said what I said, I was thinking of some evangelicals who, as I say, are hardcore, meaning they are NOT so forgiving.  Most, are understanding but there is a fringe out there that expect perfection especially from other Christians.   But you're right, we all make mistakes and it's not always about making the mistake that defines your character, it's about what you do about it afterwards.
